The Women's Super league - 'The FA WSL' lead the way in Womens football. The league was launched in April 2011 and the first season concluded in October with Arsenal Winning the treble of FA Cup, Continental League Cup and as League Champions. It was a close run competition for the league title with Birmingham pushing the Gunners Ladies all the way to the final day of the season.

S-TECH CAMBS GIRLS LEAGUE
The Cambridgeshire Girls League sponsored by S-Tech continues to go from strength to strength. Offering clubs the opportunity to compete from under 10's through to under 16's. The league offers both 9 v 9 competition as well as 11 v 11 at under 13 age groups and above, the league continues to grow and progress to support the female game. S-TECH CAMBS WOMEN'S LEAGUE
This league has developed as an exit route from our girls league and continues to grow with more clubs joining. This league feeds into the Eastern Region Women's League offering clubs the opportunity to progress along the women's pyramid system.

CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
Cambridge Girls Centre of Excellence has been running since 2002 and offers elite female footballers the opportunity of competing against other centres at under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17 age groups. PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAGUE
The Girls Primary School competition is now in the form of festivals hosted by the parent senior schools, with sports leaders gaining a Junior Football Organisers award following training and running the festivals. This will be followed by district finals and county finals where teams will be invited to attend. We are hoping that once again various schools from across the County take part. In addition schools will have the opportunity to arrange extra friendly fixtures between each other during the school year.
ESFA Tesco Cup Primary School Competition (Years 7&8)
This year Cambridgeshire FA are organising the girls competition along side the mixed and small schools competitions. District rounds in October and november with the County rounds being held in January in Ely.
SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMPETITIONS
Cambs FA have been running a girls' grand prix competition for secondary schools for a number of years now and each year sees an increase in the number of schools and girls attending. In addition to the competitions offered by the ESFA Cambs FA are providing a year 7 & 8s under 13s league and cup competition. The aim is to attract new players, that may not have had the opportunity to play at primary school, and encouraging them to join local clubs. Tournaments are taking place in October, November, February, March and April.

COACHING COURSES FOR FEMALES
Cambridgeshire FA run Level 1 courses regularly, at least one per month. Level 1 courses consist of 2 day sessions for practical and assessments and four evening sessions including emergency first aid, safeguarding children workshops and theory sessions. For those wishing to continue their development there are Level 2 and Level 3 courses that you may progress to. If you would like more information please contact Beverley Clarkson.
