Let the Children Play

26 Under 7s teams taking part in the Let the Children Play programme....so far!

‘Let the Children Play’ aims to develop quality Mini-Soccer Teams with Charter Standard Clubs.

The idea is to help clubs develop an encouraging and supportive setting for the young children to begin playing the game. We want children to enjoy football, be given the chance to develop, and to love the game for life!


Cambs FA affiliated teams participating have also been offered the following:

  • One free space on the Level Award in Coaching Football for a manager or coach with the under 7s team. This offer is valid for either the January, February, March or April 2012 courses.
  • An early opportunity to book on for the free McDonalds sponsored FA Youth Award Module 1 in April and FA Youth Award Module 2 in May.
  • Grow the Game Funding workshops (16th and 24th Jan) and support through the application.
  • Additional coaching workshops.
  • The opportunity to take part in four festivals across the County throughout the season:

    Sunday 25th March – hosted by Caldecote FC
    Saturday 19th May – hosted by Kennett Youth FC
    Saturday 16th June – hosted by Leverington Sports Youth
    Sunday 15th July – Mini World Cup at Coldhams Common, Cambridge

The FA Tescos Skills Coaches have confirmed their attendance at the festivals so as well as enjoying some fun matches against other teams in a friendly pressure free environment, your players will also be able to access some skills coaching on the day.
